, the fifth installment in the sci-fi action franchise, takes Alice (Milla Jovovich) to a place she's never been before: the real world.

Jovovich, director Paul W.S. Anderson and Michelle Rodriguez visited s video lounge at Comic-Con before their panel to talk about the film and the new territory it takes its leading lady.

In part of the story, Alice will appear as a suburban mother.

"The costumes we had for suburban Alice were hilarious. We had the pink '50s dress with polka dots," Jovovich told

"It's like we were making an episode of ," added Anderson.

Rodriguez, who starred in the first film, and returns as Rain Ocampo for the upcoming fifth installment added that she felt Jovovich's suburban Alice was also part Stepford Wife.

"Five movies in, and this is really the first time we've had a scene that's set in the, in quotes, 'real world,'" pointed out Anderson.

"I hate when you put freaking zombies in a house because then if feels so real," Rodriguez told

The new film based on the popular video game promises plenty of action, including a Rolls Royce car chase.

"I thought, 'Why has no one ever done a car chase with a Rolls Royce?' Because the Rolls Royce is such an iconic car," Anderson told . "And when we started shooting it, I realized why – because they're so expensive. And we had to destroy three of them."

At their panel in Hall H, a scene from the film was shown featuring Jovovich, Rodriguez and a lot of slow-motion acrobatics in an icy landscape. Anderson told that the clip was still a "work in progress."

"I figure the Comic-Con crowd is pretty educated in moviemaking so if there is any audience you can show some unfinished special effects too, it's this audience," he said.
